Rufus Wainwright played tribute to Judy Garland at Oxegen Festival today (July 8).The singer played two songs by the legend- 'A Foggy Day In London Town' and 'If Love Were All'-accompanied by a pianist.
He introduced the tracks by saying: "We're going to do two Judy Garland songs, just to give you all a break."
Commenting on the fact that the sun had come out after the rain, Wainwright said, after playing 'Between My Legs': "The sun always comes out when I play here. I'm the cloud of global warming. Fuck global warming."
The singer played a traditional Irish song 'Macushlah' and introduced it by saying: "I'm going to do something I've never done before at a festival- I'm going to play a traditional Irish song. My mother Kate, Kate the great, made me sing it."

'Gay Messiah' The Xcerts release 'Just Go Home' on Mannequin
Following a phenomenal early reaction to their track 'Just Go Home', originally planned as a download-only self-release, THE XCERTS have been invited by Sam Duckworth (Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly) to release the single through his Mannequin Republic label. There will now be a full vinyl release (with new b-side 'Aberdeen 1987') on 19 November.
Duckworth contacted the band after hearing Zane Lowe play 'Just Go Home' on his Radio 1 show, where it won his 'Fresh Meat' competition. The band has also been invited to record sessions for both MTV2 and XFM's John Kennedy.
THE XCERTS are currently supporting Brakes on their UK tour, and will then support Make Model on a series of Scottish dates. They will also play In The City's opening party for delegates at the Midland Hotel.
